Ministry of Development: Fine of €1 million imposed on two multinational companies for unfair profit

A fine of 1,000,000 euros has been imposed on two multinational companies, which were audited by the Interdepartmental Market Control Unit (DIMEA), by the Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas.

According to the information available, "the fines relate to the violation of Article 54 of Law 5045/29-07-2023, concerning the restriction of unfair profit phenomena."

Specifically, the following fines are imposed:

A fine of 1,000,000 euros on the company "PROCTER & GAMBLE HELLAS MONOPROSOPI E.P.E.".

A fine of 1,000,000 euros on the company "ELAIS UNILEVER HELLAS SA".

We have made it clear in every tone and direction that no one is above the law. We are determined to enforce the law to prevent profiteering and boost healthy competition, for the benefit of the Greek family," stated Development Minister Kostas Skrekas.

"Everyone must realize the criticality of the situation and the difficulty households face in accessing basic consumer goods. Addressing inflation, particularly greed-driven inflation, is primarily a matter of social responsibility and ensuring societal cohesion," the Minister of Development further stated.
