Stock prices closed with significant gains in Monday's session at the Athens Stock Exchange.

Contrary to the mild decline in European markets, the Athens Stock Exchange moved upwards and surpassed the 1,230 points level. However, the rise in stock prices was accompanied by low trading volume.

The General Price Index closed at 1,237.37 points, marking an increase of 1.44%.

The total value of transactions amounted to 64.68 million euros, with a total of 15,496,129 shares traded.

The large-cap index saw an increase of 1.56%, while the mid-cap index strengthened by 0.65%.

Out of 121 listed stocks, 81 showed gains, 27 experienced losses, and 13 remained unchanged.

Among the individual indices, the largest gains were recorded by the Personal Products index (+2.80%), followed by the Construction index (+2.38%) and the Banking index (+2.36%). On the contrary, losses were observed in the Financial Services index (-0.41%) and the Telecommunications index (-0.35%).
