The production of clean energy through the power of water has commenced with another small Hydroelectric Power Plant project by DEI Renewable Energy Sources, increasing the number of its subsidiary DEI's small Hydroelectric Power Plant projects to 20 and their total installed capacity to 88 MW.

The Small Hydroelectric Power Plant (SHPP) Makrochori II is located in the Regional Unit of Imathia (municipality of Alexandreia) and has an installed capacity of 4.84 MW.

DEI Renewables' Energy Sources new project is a characteristic example of the optimal utilization of the country's water resources. It harnesses the water of the Aliakmon River canal, which irrigates areas in Imathia, Pella, and Thessaloniki (approximately 900,000 acres) and supplies water to the Thessaloniki metropolitan area.

The new small Hydroelectric Power Plant  project includes Kaplan S-type water turbines with a total nominal flow rate of 75 cubic meters of water per second. These turbines, assisted by 6.3 kV generators and other main and auxiliary electromechanical equipment, convert the kinetic energy of water into electrical energy.

DEI Renewables' Energy Sources, with 39 wind parks, 20 small hydropower stations, 32 photovoltaic stations, and 1 hybrid power station with a total installed capacity exceeding 670 MW, along with its ambitious investment plan, has positioned itself prominently in the Greek renewable energy sector. It lays the foundation to drive the energy transformation in the country.
