Eurobank honored 182 distinguished graduates from high schools in the Regional Units of Thessaloniki, Chalkidiki, Serres, Drama, Kavala, Xanthi, Evros, and Rhodope, in Thessaloniki, as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Program Ahead for Education, which completes 21 years of continuous presence this year.

At the same event, 12 graduates from the regional units of the Dodecanese, Cyclades, Lesvos, and Chios, who study at the Universities of Thessaloniki, were also awarded. As part of the program, the Bank has awarded a total of 22,571 graduates throughout Greece.

The 194 distinguished students, who excelled this year in these Regional Units for their high performance in the Panhellenic examinations, were honored on November 10, 2023, in the presence of the senior management of Eurobank and the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, in the first in-person award ceremony after a four-year absence due to the pandemic.

The students, their families, educators, as well as local authorities, came together again at the Ceremony Hall of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in a warm and emotional atmosphere, where the unequivocal acceptance of the longest-running Corporate Social Responsibility program in Greece was emphatically reaffirmed, underscoring the unwavering value of Education in Greek society.

In his speech, Mr. Fokion Karavias, the CEO of Eurobank, emphasized that: "The new generation is the thread that connects all the bank's social responsibility actions – in Education, in sports, in promoting youth and fledgling entrepreneurship, in addressing demographic challenges. Our responsibility is to exert all our efforts so that you inherit the country in such a condition that allows you to welcome your dreams without limitations but instead provides you with the entire field to develop your creativity, showcase your value, and reap the rewards of your efforts. At Eurobank, we do this tonight by honoring you who excelled in the tough but fair entrance exams. We have been doing this continuously for two decades, honoring excellence and the effort that brings results."

In his address, Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, noted: "The recognition of high school graduates who distinguished themselves in the nationwide exams by Eurobank is not a typical event but a significant institution of rewarding children who come of age through the first major success of their lives. Congratulations to the students who succeeded in entering the university, receiving praise from a well-respected institution that supports the Greek economy and the Greek family, just like the 'BRAVO for Education' program implemented by Eurobank. For this reason, warm congratulations are deserved by all those involved in this invaluable social action."
