A total fine of 1,672,000 euros has been imposed on two multinational companies, following an audit by the Interdepartmental Market Control Unit (DIMEA), announced by the Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas.
The fines concern the violation of Article 54 of Law 5045/29-07-2023, regarding the restraint of unfair profit practices.
Specifically, the following fines are imposed:
• A fine of 1,000,000 euros on the company "Johnson & Johnson ΕΛΛΑΣ - CONSUMER PRODUCTS ANONYMOS EMPORIKI COMPANY."
- A fine of 672,000 euros is imposed on the company "COLGATE PALMOLIVE COMMERCIAL (GREECE) SOLE SHAREHOLDER LTD."
Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas, stated: "It is now clear to all parties that any violation is not tolerated. Our service inspections are continuous and uninterrupted, and in all cases where irregularities are found, fines are imposed. Our government is determined to combat profiteering at its root and to strengthen, in every possible way, the functioning of the market and healthy competition for the benefit of households and all our fellow citizens. For the New Democracy government, as well as for the Ministry of Development, the battle against unfair practices and profiteering is a top priority."
