The Ellinikon project is much more than an urban redevelopment project, it is a national vision," emphasized Odisseas Athanasiou, CEO of LAMDA Development, speaking at a conference panel attended by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Achilles Constantakopoulos, the president of TEMES SA, and Eftichios Vassilakis, the president of AEGEAN.
Mr. Athanasiou highlighted the crucial contribution of the landmarks being created in Hellinikon to attract a large number of tourists, not only to Ellinikon but to the entire country. He made references to landmarks in other cities worldwide, such as the Sydney Opera House, Marina Bay in Singapore, Bilbao, and others.
The five tall buildings to be constructed in Ellinikon, centered around the Riviera Tower, the tallest green coastal skyscraper in the Mediterranean, will attract a significant additional number of tourists, stated Mr. Athanasiou.
He also emphasized that the new city of Ellinikon will be characterized by sustainability. It will be a green smart city that incorporates all the systems allowing energy savings, water resource management, waste management, and much more," said Mr. Athanasiou.
The CEO of LAMDA highlighted that the new city will revolve around the new model of cities, where residents and visitors can walk or bike to any destination within 15 minutes. It will feature an extensive network of bike lanes and 4 kilometers of coastline.
He also noted that for the construction of the project and the realization of studies, a "national team of the world" was created, consisting of powerful names from Greek and international architecture, design firms, construction companies, etc.
At the same time, support is given to smaller Greek construction companies as they actively participate in the construction of individual projects. He also spoke more broadly about the importance of collaborations for the progress of the project, such as partnerships with Aegean and TEMES.
He also referred to the example of the Costa Navarino investment, emphasizing its very positive impact on the entire surrounding area, highlighting the positive effects that large investments in the broader region have.
Referring to the Ellinikon investment, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who provided an overall picture of tourism in our country in his intervention, pointed out, among other things, that Ellinikon, in addition to its developmental contribution, will be one of the "showcases" of the new Greece we envision. Ellinikon is an open city, it is not a closed community that concerns only those who live there. It will be a city coming from the future. The final product will contribute to the overall change of the country's brand, said the Prime Minister, emphasizing that economic and political stability attract investors.
