The Ministry of Development puts an end to fake offers that appear as tempting.

In an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA), Development Minister Kostas Skrekas said that "our goal is to put an end to all misleading tactics for the benefit of households and healthy competition." 

"The aim is to have clear and substantial offers," he added.

The minister stressed the importance of the informed consumer in setting prices and in the effort to combat high prices. Together we will create an "embankment" in unfair commercial policies, Skrekas noted.

In addition, he reminded that the inspections are continuous and only recently have fines been imposed on 5 multinationals totaling 3.9 million euros. Approximately 20,000 inspections have been carried out and fines approaching 8 million euros have been imposed, of which about 5.9 million have been paid or confirmed to the competent authorities.
