The plan for the development of a new private school, the College of Athens – Psychiko, in the area of the former airport in Ellinikon should now be considered a thing of the past.

According to information from BnB Daily, the plan, strongly supported mainly by shipowner Giorgos Prokopiou – who has offered to finance the project with 50 million euros, in collaboration with another Greek entrepreneur in the industry – is facing strong opposition from prominent members of the Greek-American educational institution, as well as from top political figures.

This development leaves the field open for other private schools to acquire campuses there, especially the Geitona Schools, which were already preselected for this purpose by the concessionaire.
