The modernization of the state apparatus with the help of artificial intelligence took center stage in today's presentation by the leadership of the Ministry of Digital Governance.

Specifically, during a meeting held today, chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the leadership of the Ministry of Digital Governance presented the first digital assistant operating with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which will help citizens visiting the gov.gr portal.

"The capabilities of artificial intelligence are now very impressive and I believe that, with what we are doing today, we are significantly upgrading the capabilities of gov.gr, effectively bringing it in step with its time or even ahead of its time as regards the ease with which we will be able to converse," the Prime Minister said.

The digital assistant, which takes the form of a chatbot and is activated in its trial version as of this afternoon, will help visitors to gov.gr easily find the service they are looking for by answering both simple and complex questions.

It is the first application utilizing artificial intelligence in the public sector and one of the first similar services in Europe, contributing to the broader modernization of the state mechanism, especially in terms of interaction with citizens to facilitate and simplify their daily lives.
