The Athens Stock Exchange completed its 5th consecutive positive session, surpassing 1,290 points (for the first time since September 1) and approaching the psychological threshold of 1,300 points.
The General Index recorded an increase of 0.72%, reaching 1,292.35 points, gaining more than nine points compared to Tuesday's closing (1,283.12 points). The turnover amounted to 83 million euros.
The banking index remained in positive territory, with buyers prevailing and leading the sector to +1.91% and 1,066 points.
Alpha Bank strengthened by 2.6%, reclaiming the threshold of 1.5 euros, while Eurobank's stock rose by 1.5% to 1.63 euros. Piraeus Bank showed a 1.3% increase, reaching 3.2 euros, and the National Bank of Greece's stock increased by 2.1%, reaching 6.29 euros.
EYDAP lost 1%, OTE dropped by 0.7%, and Jumbo experienced a 0.9% decrease.
60 stocks moved upward, 46 stocks recorded a decline, while 17 stocks remained unchanged.
