DEDDIE and the Water Supply & Sewage Company of Athens (EYDAP) have agreed to pilot the use of the DEDDIE's smart metering platform for collecting data from smart water meters of EYDAP.
The goal is the remote collection of metering data from smart water meters that are in close proximity to DEDDIE's smart meters, in selected areas in the Municipality of Penteli and the Municipality of Palaio Faliro, the two companies stated in a related announcement.
EYDAP will utilize this data for accurate billing, leak detection, and water conservation policy planning, with the involvement of the end-consumer.
This way, DEDDIE's smart meters are transformed into a unified platform of smart metering infrastructure that serves both utility networks (electricity and water).
The information collected and transmitted through DEDDIE's smart meters is fully encrypted according to international standards, ensuring the privacy and integrity of the data in all stages of the process.
