The Athens Stock Exchange closed with "controlled" losses, concluding an otherwise positive week for the General Index, which now records gains of around 38.83% since the beginning of the year.

The General Index closed at 1,290.79 points, marking a decrease of 0.35%, with a trading volume of 180.9 million euros.

For the week, the General Index recorded gains of 1.23%, the FTSE25 closed with an increase of 1.36%, while the banking index strengthened by 2.72%.

The banking index recorded a decrease of 0.39% at 1,058.24 points, with Alpha Bank closing at -1.03%, Eurobank at +0.06%, National Bank at -0.8%, and Piraeus Bank at +0.62%.

The high-capitalization index fell by 0.44% to 3,120.73 points, while the mid-capitalization index closed with a gain of 0.41% at 2,207.06 points.

Among the non-banking blue-chip stocks, Ellaktor closed with a gain of 4.29%, followed by modest gains from GEK Terna, Motor Oil, OPAP, and Terna Energy.

EYDAP losses 5.17%, followed by declines of over 2% for Sarantis and Quest, and declines of over 1% for Viohalco, Jumbo, OTE, and Lamda Development. 

42 stocks moved upward, 70 stocks experienced a decline, while 16 stocks remained unchanged.
