Fine of €41,75 million in banks
The banks are obliged to reduce, from January 1, 2024, the amount of the DAF fee per cash withdrawal transaction from ATMs using cards issued by other institutions

Hellenic Competition Commission

The Hellenic Competition Commission has decided to impose a fine of €41,756,180.10 on five banking institutions and the Hellenic Bank Association for coordinated practices in interbank systems and payment and electronic transaction services.

Furthermore, the banks are obliged to reduce, from January 1, 2024, the amount of the DAF fee per cash withdrawal transaction from ATMs using cards issued by other institutions, and the upper limit is to be maintained for a period of three years.

It is noted that the fines result from a settlement within the framework of the Dispute Settlement Procedure.
