For the second consecutive month, in November, private sector deposits saw a decline. Specifically, the decrease reached 904 million euros, compared to a decrease of 2,143 million euros in the previous month.
I. Credit to the domestic economy
Τhe monthly net flow of total credit was positive by €1,370 million in November 2023, compared with a positive net flow of €349 million in the previous month.
Ι.1 Credit to the general government
In November 2023, the monthly net flow of credit to the general government was positive by €578 million, compared with a positive net flow of €1,205 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 3.1% compared with 3.9% in the previous month.
Ι.2 Credit to the private sector
In November 2023, the annual growth rate of credit to the private sector increased to 2.8% from 2.1% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of credit was positive by €792 million, compared with a negative net flow of €856 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.1 Credit to corporations
In November 2023, the monthly net flow of credit to corporations was positive by €777 million, compared with a negative net flow of €669 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 6.0% from 4.9% in the previous month. In particular, the annual growth rate of credit to non-financial corporations (NFCs) stood at 5.1% compared with 5.0% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €85 million, compared with a negative net flow of €430 million in the previous month. The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries increased to 13.8% from 4.1% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €692 million, compared with a negative net flow of €239 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.2 Credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships
In November 2023, the monthly net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was positive by €8 million, compared with a negative net flow of €66 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -2.8% compared with -3.0% in the previous month.
Ι.2.3 Credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions
In November 2023, the monthly net flow of credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions was positive by €7 million, compared with a negative net flow of €121 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -2.3% compared with -2.2% in the previous month.
II. Deposits by the domestic economy with the domestic credit institutions
In November 2023, the monthly net flow of total deposits was negative by €932 million, compared with a negative net flow of €1,883 million in October 2023.
ΙΙ.1 Deposits placed by the general government
In November 2023, deposits placed by the general government decreased by €27 million, compared with an increase of €261 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -8.3% compared with -9.1% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2 Deposits placed by the private sector
In November 2023, deposits placed by the private sector decreased by €904 million, compared with a decrease of €2,143 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at 2.4% compared with 2.5% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.1 Corporate deposits
In November 2023, corporate deposits decreased by €748 million, compared with a decrease of €2,044 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -1.6% compared with -0.4% in the previous month. In particular, deposits from NFCs decreased by €626 million, against a decrease of €2,226 million in the previous month. Deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries decreased by €123 million, compared with an increase of €183 million in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.2 Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions
In November 2023, deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions decreased by €156 million, compared with a decrease of €100 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at 3.7% compared with 3.5% in the previous month.
