Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis placed particular emphasis on innovation during his meeting with the heads of companies and associations of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) at the Megaro Maximou.

"We are trying to promote innovation," he said, while thanking Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla for the meeting with the heads of pharmaceutical companies.

The Prime Minister underlined that "we live in a rather complex environment. Sometimes we feel that we have to square the circle in our efforts to provide our citizens with innovative medicines as well as generics at the best possible price, ensuring that we protect our citizens from disruptions in the supply chain while trying to support innovation and companies."

He also said that issues related to European competitiveness are at the heart of the New Democracy's election campaign and noted that there will be pressure on the European institutions to improve the framework.
