Ioulia Tsetis, CEO of the Tsetis Pharmaceuticals Group (OFET), announced her intention to run for the presidency of SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enteprises) in a recent speech.
Regarding the pharmaceutical industry, Ioulia Tsetis referred in her speech to the potential of the sector, adding that "we need partnerships to make Greece a hub of innovation."
She underlined that the pharmaceutical industry is a key investment sector of the economy, which supports GDP in an exemplary manner, employment by 65% - as it already employs 29,000 workers - public health - covering 60% of the needs of patients in Greece - while medicine is also the second most exported product, with exports of the sector amounting to 2.6 billion euros, which are directed to 147 countries worldwide. Also "extremely important", she added, "is the existence of 110 start-ups in the field of health life sciences and internationally renowned scientists staffing our universities, hospitals, and research centers.". "Business exports and a strong outward-looking model can be a real stronghold for the economy and for businesses themselves, in any era and when crises follow one another," she stressed, calling for the strengthening of industrial production in Greece.
RECYCLING AND GREEN DEVELOPMENT
Furthermore, she stressed the importance of the recycling of pharmaceuticals and the green development of the industry, while he emphasized that our country must focus on transforming itself into a geographical hub of Innovation, Technology and Excellence, as well as on the formation of a co-responsibility clause between the state and businesses, so that young people decide to stay in Greece, creating a country of progress and prosperity. In other words, he concluded, we need a change of culture to strengthen research and innovation in our country and a lot of work.
