Renewable Energy sources connections have tripled
The more investments are made in the energy networks, the more the cost of energy will decrease, said Tassos Manos CEO of DEDDIE.

Energy security and the fairness of the green transition for the consumer were highlighted during the panel "Towards a Just and Secure Energy Future for Europe" moderated by journalist, Thodoris Panagoulis, at the 9th Delphi Economic Forum, which is taking place in Delphi from 10 to 13 April under the auspices of the A.E. of the President of the Republic, Mrs.Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

Managing Director of Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (DEDDIE), Tassos Manos, stressed that investments for the development of the networks should be doubled or even quadrupled, as should investments in electricity distribution. He added that the more investments are made in the networks, the more the cost of energy will decrease.

Regarding the performance of the DEDDIE, he stressed that connections to Renewable Energy Sources have more than tripled and that despite the crisis in Ukraine, the consumer has saved €1.2 billio. Regarding the problems in the development of the network, he made special reference to the shortage of energy workers, as the number of workers should more than double by 2030 in the EU and Greece.
