Nikos Papathanasis, Deputy Minister of Economy with responsibility for investments and PPPs, appeared very optimistic about the country's course and the investment climate, speaking at the 9th Delphi Economic Forum.

"Something right has been done in this country. And this right is attracting investment. The DNA of the Mitsotakis government creates a belief and a confidence in the business world that the country is stable, that it believes in fiscal discipline," said Nikos Papathanasis. The minister also stressed that "Greece is achieving its debt-to-GDP reduction target. We have a primary surplus that, for the first year in 2024, will cover our loan payments. We are a country that is an example to the whole European Union, something that could not have been imagined five years ago."

Responding to criticism of the government for "disinvestment" with the closure of well-known industries in the country, Nikos Papathanasis noted: "We have not stopped reforms but the state does not change overnight. The big cancer is bureaucracy. To deal with it, we have trusted the private sector, and we have taken out of the state many jobs that the state used to do. We believe in the private sector, which we trust to outsource the audits, the auditors, and the engineers. We're creating a comfort zone and an ease zone for the business community to show more confidence. This is an ongoing action to eliminate red tape."
