Nikos Stathopoulos of BC Partners spoke at the Delphi Forum about Telecommunications Company Nova. As he said, "Nova is an investment that was made 2.5 years ago. We started by buying only Nova and after a year, when Wind came up for sale, we acquired it.
We became the second largest telecom provider, and we are happy about the venture. Profitability is 35–40% up from when we bought it. I say that because when we acquired Nova, we didn't do it as BC Partners, but through another company, United Group, in which we invested five years ago. United has done extremely well, it has quadrupled its turnover and profitability, with EBITDA of over €1 billion. It is normal that after 5 years, a fund looks to divest.
Responding to a question about what is written about potential interest from CVC fund, Mr. Stathopoulos said that the issue is not over anytime soon. "I read the reports too. I learn things I don't know, who the buyers are, what the prices are. There is no offer from CVC, there is not even an expression of interest from anyone," he noted.
