With blue chips leading and banks following more discreetly, the Athens Stock Exchange continued for a second day its upward reaction, outperforming significantly today against the European boards.

In particular, the General Index moved up throughout the session and turned up in the last hour, closing at the highs of the day at 1,381.07 points with a significant gain of 1.1%.

Turnover was at a satisfactory level at €115.95 million, of which 17.8 million in 22 packages (8 to Jumbo for 8 million, 4 to Eurobank for 192 million) with a trading volume of 22.8 million pieces.

The banking index rose 0.85% to 1,173.79 points, the FTSE gained 1.2% to 3,351.7 points, and the FTSEM mid-cap index rose 1.37% to 2,229.14 points.

The strong figures announced by Greek listed companies in the last 24 hours, combined with the gradual easing of concerns about a new geopolitical explosion in the Middle East, left the Athens Stock Exchange the room to continue yesterday's recovery and made the best use of it to get more distance from the critical level of the 1,360-unit zone.

Among the high-cap stocks, the biggest increases were recorded by Lamda Development (+3.61%), GEK Terna (+3.35%), Mytilineos (+2.81%), Jumbo (+2.79%), Aegean Airlines (+2.71%), Terna Energy (+2.59%), and Autohellas (+2.11%). On the contrary, shares of PPA (-0.21%) and PPC (-0.18%) declined slightly.

In the mid-cap sector, buyers' orders focused on Intralot with +3.25% at €1.08 and Epsilon at €9.51 with +3.93%, while ADMIE corrected slightly (-0.2%) after yesterday's 5% rally with a turnover of €1.2m and Intrakat closed unchanged at €4.96 with €1.1m.
