At the meeting of the Board of Directors of SEV on April 22, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SEV, Mr. Dimitris Papalexopoulos and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of SEV, Mr. Efthimios Vidalis, announced their intention not to run for a third consecutive term at the helm of the association.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Dimitris Papalexopoulos, said the following:

"I would like to believe that we are handing over SEV having contributed in a substantial way to further improving its effectiveness, continuing the work and commitment of the previous Presidents for its continuous renewal and development.

At a time when most of the constants of the global economy and society were being tested, we engaged responsibly with the State, strengthened the Association's presence in Greece and the EU, contributed with well-crafted proposals for reforms, and helped to address serious social issues, such as the health crisis and the floods in Thessaly, highlighting entrepreneurship as part of the solution to the country's complex issues.

We put at the core of our actions the digital revolution, innovation, industrial development and green transition, equality and inclusion, corporate responsibility and sustainable development, skills enhancement, and the link between education and the labour market.

At the same time, we focused on modern labour relations, business openness and regional development, investment mobilisation, simplification of the business and tax environment, better infrastructure, better functioning of competition, significantly enhancing the support services provided to our members. Finally, we have expanded our membership pool, now including several start-ups, while the Association's reflexes have been strengthened thanks to the professionalism of our executives and the working groups guided by the members of the Board of Directors.

The challenges of the next period undoubtedly remain great and our Association is called upon to continue to support its members, making use of its accumulated experience, its versatility in representing different sectors and company sizes, as well as its boldness in new actions. Based on values that have characterised its way of operating over time, such as consultation and the synthesis of views, SEV needs to continue to intervene with all its forces united and with collective aspirations far above personal ones".
