An important project, especially for western Thessalia, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis described the modern 136 km-long E65 Motorway of Central Greece during the inauguration event of the delivery of the entire Lamia-KKalambaka section.

As Mr. Mitsotakis stated, this road is of crucial developmental importance in areas of outstanding natural beauty that have undergone severe testing from natural disasters. Accessibility from Athens to Karditsa and Trikala is currently two and a half hours and three hours, respectively.

In the history of the project, the Prime Minister said that "it went through 40 waves, was tested in the economic crisis, and remained hollow only with the middle section and technical problems in the southern section, while the northern section was literally in a financial vacuum.".

"With the perseverance of the government and hard negotiations with the Commission, the project that was planned 15 years ago is moving forward," said the prime minister, who, in addition to the development dimension, also referred to road safety, recalling the National Strategy for the reduction of traffic accidents.

"Two months before the June 9 elections,"  Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that the projects would never have been carried out without the funding and support of the European Union. "New Democracy put Greece in Europe, kept it, and now translates the country's relationship with the European family into tangible projects for the benefit of every Greek family," the prime minister added.
