Passenger traffic increased by 14.4% in the first quarter
A significant increase of 14.4% was recorded in passenger traffic in the first quarter of the year, compared to last year, for all the country's airports.

A significant increase of 14.4% was recorded in passenger traffic in the first quarter of the year, compared to last year, for all the country's airports where commercial flights are operated (39 airports: Athens International Airport, 24 CAA airports, and 14 Fraport Greece airports).

Total passengers in the first quarter of 2024 reached 7,876,353, compared to 6,884,904 passengers in the first quarter of 2023.

In terms of flights for the quarter of 2024 (domestic and international aircraft arrivals and departures) at all the country's airports, there was an increase of 7.8% compared to the same period in 2023. In particular, in the first quarter of 2024, there were 70,271 flights, compared to 65,211 flights in the first quarter of 2023.

For the month of March, there was also a 17% increase in passenger traffic at the 24 airports under the exclusive management of the Civil Aviation Authority compared to the same period in 2023. In particular, according to the provisional statistics for March, the total number of passengers handled (arrivals and departures, both international and domestic) reached 243,314 this year, compared to 207,928 passengers in March 2023.
