ISOMAT announced the operation of the new mortar production line at its production subsidiary in Romania. The investment of €8.5 million (42 million Romanian Leu) is part of the ISOMAT Group's investment plan, which includes, among other things, the creation of new production lines.

The new production line for wide range mortars, ISOMAT ROMANIA S.R.L., is a milestone for ISOMAT's further expansion in the building materials sector in the Romanian market, investing in high quality, new technologies, and sustainable practices, the company said. The plant, which has already started operating at the facility, can produce up to 240 tons of mortar per 8 hours, with almost zero waste production, since the majority of the unnecessary materials collected are recycled within the plant at various stages of the production process.

The facility has 16 silos for the storage of raw materials, 24 silos for the automatic weighing of chemical additives, and packaging equipment that ensures the palletisation of up to 2,000 bags per hour, boosting production speed and competitiveness levels. In addition, the traceability of batches of products produced and the strict quality control of raw materials and finished products ensure the production of high quality products. All of the new equipment complies with the latest European quality standards, ensuring optimal operation and efficiency in all processes, the company says.

With this investment, ISOMAT Group aims to strengthen its presence in the Romanian domestic market and to develop locally, creating dozens of new jobs of various specializations, with a focus on specialization and scientific know-how. This action works in support of both the overall achievement of new objectives and the Group's vision for Romania, which is about the continuous development of the subsidiary's activity and the qualitative response to the ever-increasing needs of the local clientele, as well as the development of the projects, the statement said.

The President and CEO of ISOMAT Group, Thanos Tziritis, says that "the investment in ISOMAT ROMANIA S.R.L. is a move of strategic importance for ISOMAT Group, with short and long-term objectives, demonstrating its resilience in the ever-changing economic conditions and marking a new era of profitability both at the country and Group level".

It is noted that by the end of 2022, investments of €26.5 million were implemented both for the parent company in Greece and for the subsidiaries in Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia, of which €12 million were exclusively related to the subsidiaries, where the largest part of the investment in the new production line in Romania belongs. From 2023 and for the coming years, ISOMAT has put in place a new investment plan, estimated at €28 million for Greece, for the modernization of its mechanical, technological and building equipment, with the aim of increasing productivity and the use of energy-saving systems, on the way to strengthening its sustainable and responsible activity.
