The services sector in Greece recorded the highest annual growth in the European Union in February.
According to Eurostat data, the services sector grew at a rapid pace of 15.1% in February compared to the same month last year. It is worth noting that in previous months, Greece also recorded a very good performance, but a much lower one. Compared to January, the services sector strengthened by 2.3%, achieving the third-highest growth in the EU.
In the European Union, the services sector grew at an annual rate of 4.8%, while in the euro area, it grew by 4.9%. The largest boost in the annual comparison in the euro area was given by information and communication (8.4%), professional, scientific, and technical activities (4.9%), accommodation and food service activities (3.8%), transport and warehousing and administrative and support service activities (3.5% each), and finally real estate activities (1.9%).
According to Eurostat data, on a monthly basis, the services sector grew by 1.1% in the EU and by 1% in the euro area.
