The Hellenic Capital Market Commission will host the 49th Annual Meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in Athens between 26 and 28 May 2024.

For the first time in more than 40 years of the IOSCO's operation, the Summit will take place in Greece and will include in its agenda of meetings issues such as challenges and prospects in the field of sustainable finance, technological developments in capital markets, the extroversion of capital markets per continent, financial literacy and other topical issues that concern capital markets worldwide and the financial sector in general.

IOSCO was established in 1983, with its regular members representing more than 95% of the world's financial instruments markets in more than 131 jurisdictions, and in addition has 34 associate members and 74 non-voting associate members.

Following the conclusion of the Summit, the Securities and Exchange Commission's 2024 Conference on "Climate in the Center of Economy" will follow on May 29, 2024.

In addition to IOSCO members, the Commission's Conference will be attended by important personalities such as the Commissioner responsible for financial services, financial stability and the Capital Markets Union in the EU, representatives of the Greek Government, the Governor of the Hellenic Central Bank, representatives of capital market supervisory authorities from around the world, including the United States, Australia, Belgium, Spain, Hong Kong, Ireland, Singapore, heads of financial sector and Greek capital market institutions, experts from Greece and abroad and other institutional players, who will discuss current European and international developments in capital markets, with particular emphasis on sustainability and climate change as well as the impact on the financial sector and the Greek economy in general.
