The economic relations between Greece and Switzerland and the investment opportunities that are opening up were discussed during the meeting between the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, and the Federal Chancellor for Economic Affairs, Education, and Research of Switzerland, Guy Parmelin, in Athens today.

Mr. Hatzidakis referred in particular to the framework in place for the promotion of strategic investments, the possibilities of financing from the Recovery Fund, and the scope of activity opening up in the field of the green economy and carbonisation.

The two ministers also discussed issues concerning Swiss companies, such as pharmaceutical companies already operating in our country. The meeting gave an overview of Switzerland's relations with the European Union, and Mr. Parmelin stressed his country's interest in participating in the Horizon and Erasmus+ programmes.

Mr. Hatzidakis and Mr. Parmelin finally agreed that the office of the Secretary General for Economic Policy and Strategy, Mr. George Christopoulos, would be the point of contact for all matters concerning relations between the two ministries.
