Dimitris Mazarakis will become the head of Ethniki, Hellenic General Insurance, on July 8, 2024, upon completion of the supervisory authority's relevant procedure.

This was announced today by Ethniki, Hellenic General Insurance , highlighting that "following the completion of the first phase of the transformation plan and the new corporate strategy, Robert Gauchi is leaving the company at the beginning of July, and Dimitris Mazarakis will become the new CEO.".

Furthermore, as stated in the announcement, "Mr. Mazarakis, with 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and a proven ability to transform and build leading organizations and teams, has had a highly successful career at ALICO AIG Life and MetLife, having served as Actuary and Director of Finance and Administrative Services as well as Director of Sales and Managing Director in Greece. For the last six years, he has been the head of MetLife in the Persian Gulf regions (UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait), and Saudi Arabia.

With a distinguished track record of leading positions in the insurance industry in Greece and internationally, Mr. Mazarakis has established himself as a pioneer in the development of the Greek insurance market. He has successfully served in important institutional roles such as Chairman of the Hellenic Association of Actuaries, Vice Chairman of the Guarantee Fund for Private Life Insurance, Chairman of the Life, Health, and Pensions Committee, and Chairman of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies."
