For the second consecutive day, the Athens Stock Exchange remains under the control of the sellers, which is rushing to consolidate part of the strong gains of the last period (+14% in 2024).
Tonight, meanwhile, we await the MSCI index restructuring, with any changes in Standard Greece monopolizing interest. At the same time, the market is also looking forward to the publication of the first quarter corporate results.
More specifically, in the 2nd session of the week, the General Index recorded a controlled decline of 0.37% to 1,470.67 points, losing just 5.5 points compared to Monday's close (1,476.12 points).
The banking index shows small losses, as it is currently at -0.39% and 1,279 points, pending the new financial results for the period.
Eurobank's share is limited to -2.02% and 2.034 euros; Alpha Bank's share is down -0.31% and 1.607 euros; Piraeus' share is almost unchanged at 3.865 euros; and the share of National Bank is up +0.55% and 8.114 euros.
In the high-cap index (-0.39% and 3,559 points), Titan Cement shares, after consecutive records and an impressive rally, are rushing to correct to -3.6% and 30.1 euros. Losses of close to 3% are also seen in the shares of Terna Energy, which fall below 18 euros. Mytilineos, PPC, Quest, Lamda, and Autohellas each lose 1%, while GEK Terna folds by 2.2%. On the flip side, OTE shares rose 0.9% to 14.2 euros, thanks to a net profit of 142.5 million euros in the first quarter.
As for the mid-cap index (-0.52% and 2,367 points), Intrakat shares stand out negatively at -1.6% and 5.3 euros, with Intracom Holdings, Intralot, Alumil shares contracting by 1%. Above 2% is determined for Fourlis shares. On the other hand, Kri Kri gains 1.4%, while Profile expands by 2.3%. A special mention should be made of PPA, whose share loses 4%, as it is trading without dividend rights as of today.
