Today, 15/5, the Athens Stock Exchange is approaching the 1,500 points milestone as buyers continue to dominate the market and provide the strongest response to the two-day decline.

The Athens Stock Exchange is moving today (15/5) towards the milestone of 1,500 points, with buyers dominating the market, reacting in the most convincing way to the two-day decline.

More specifically, in today's session, the General Index is up significantly by 1.30% to 1,490.92 points, gaining 19 points compared to Tuesday's close (1,471.78 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations extends to 16 points (from 1,475.05 to 1,491.65 points), with a turnover of 40 million euros, of which 2.3 million euros are pre-agreed packages.

On the board, the National Bank continues to climb, reaching new 8-year highs. Jumbo and PPC, at the same time, gain up to 3%, with Alpha Bank and Eurobank following at +2%. Lavipharm also makes an impressive rally, soaring to EUR 0.95.

The banking index, after the recent pullback, is climbing to new multi-year highs, as it currently stands at +2.14% and 1,309 points.

The National Bank share soars +3.14% and 8.416 euros; the Alpha Bank share rises +1.95% and 1.6434 euros; the Eurobank share trades +2.27% and 2.07 euros; and the Piraeus share follows at +0.51% and 3.908 euros.

In the high-cap index (+1.47% and 3,615 points), PPC shares expand to +3.1% and 11.7 euros, with Jumbo, Viohalco and OTE shares following at least +2%. Beyond that, shares of Motor Oil, Elvalhalkor, GEK Terna, Coca - Cola and Cenergy gain more than 1%, with Helleniq Energy's share gaining 0.8% to EUR 8.7 (5-year high) On the flip side, Autohellas' share loses about 1%. Lamda's share shows losses of up to 0.7%.

As for the mid-cap index (+0.52% and 2,386 points), Lavipharm's share stands out at +7% and 0.95 euros, while AVAX's share rallies +4%, returning above 1.6 euros. Alumil and Kri Kri follow at +2%, with Profile and Intracom shares expanding by 1.5%. In contrast, Intrakat's shares retreat up to 1.3%.
