Based on the Greek Police's findings, the auditors of the Independent Authority for Public Revenues' Internal Affairs Directorate are investigating the Chalkida Tax Office's records.

All of the prosecuted employees had their jobs terminated, and the prosecuted supervisors had already lost their jobs. At the same time, the procedure to put them on leave within 30 days, as required by law, has begun.

With regard to the Tax Office of Chalkida, the Governor of ADE, George Pitsilis, ordered

Re-check all suspicious cases, especially those involving VAT refunds
Full management control over a five-year period and

Transfer of control cases from the tax office of Chalkida, the audit centers of Attica, with the auditors of this service to join the Attica ELKE, but without controlling cases of taxpayers of Evia, as well as all the employees of this tax office. At the same time, the revenue collection procedures will be incorporated into the Attica KEBIS and the capital into the Attica KEFOK. These moves are part of the broader plan that has already been announced and started to be implemented in Attica and Thessaloniki for the decoupling of audit and collection procedures from contact with the tax offices.
