Accommodation and food service turnover up by 9% in April
According to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), the turnover of businesses in the accommodation and catering services sectors increased by 9% on an annual basis in April. Notably, businesses in Attica recorded an impressive 32.5% growth in turnover.

In April, the turnover of businesses in the Accommodation and Catering Services sectors increased by 9% on an annual basis, with businesses in Attica recording an impressive 32.5% growth in turnover, according to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

More specifically, for businesses in the accommodation sector with the obligation to keep double-entry books, turnover in April 2024 amounted to 315,846,962 euros, an increase of 5.1% compared to April 2023, where it had amounted to 300,558,085 euros.

For enterprises in the catering services sector with the obligation to keep double-entry books, turnover in April 2024 amounted to 220,039,364 euros, an increase of 15.3% compared to April 2023, when it amounted to 190,908,039 euros.

Cumulatively, for enterprises in the Accommodation and Food Services sector, turnover in April 2024 amounted to 535,886,326 euros, an increase of 9.0% compared to April 2023, when it stood at 491,466,124 euros.

For the regional units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2023 of more than 1%, the largest increase in turnover in April 2024 compared to April 2023 was observed in the regional unit of Zakynthos (41.4%), the smallest increase (0.8%) was recorded in the regional unit of Rethymno, and the largest decrease (24.9%) was recorded in the regional unit of Corfu.
