The Independent Authority for Public Revenue is further digitising the export finalisation procedure by operating the digital notification of the exit of goods from the customs territory of the Union through the sending of a digital message (IE590) in the ICISnet system.

The procedure will be mandatory from 2/9/2024 for goods leaving the customs territory of the Union by sea or air, and is expected to make the country's export businesses more competitive.

Specifically, a circular issued by the Governor of the AADE, Giorgos Pitsilis (E.2050/2024), further automates the process of finalizing the export or re-export of goods as well as the supply of ships and aircraft and provides instructions for the carriers involved.

With the new digital exit confirmation message:

  • The time required to certify the completion of exports is reduced,
  • It speeds up the VAT refund, the issue of the Special Duplicate VAT Exemption Certificate and the procedure for the release of guarantees for excise products.
  • Digitization and automation of the process of confirming the exit of goods for carriers at the customs office of exit.

The new application is available through the ICISnet platform on the myAADE digital portal under Applications > Customs Services > ECS (Export Control System).
