Stagnation prevails today (21/8) on the Athens Stock Exchange, with investors engaging in selective investments while trading turnover remains low and attention is turned elsewhere.

It is clear that, after the recovery rally from the sell-off of August 5, the Greek market has entered a phase of accumulation due to the lack of domestic news, which is not conducive to the emergence of new bullish catalysts.

At the same time, all the attention has been focused on the crucial speech of Fed chief Jerome Powell at Jackson Hall next Friday, who is not excluded from sending a signal on the course of US interest rates.

In this context, in the 3rd session of the week, the General Index is up slightly by 0.13% to 1,427.31 points, gaining about two points compared to Tuesday's close (1,425.51 points).

The arc of the daily fluctuations extends over three points (from 1,425.17 to 1,428.54 points), with the turnover of the trading volume hovering at just 2 million in the first 15 minutes.

Alpha Bank's share is down -0.22% and EUR 1.5795, NBG is trading -0.03% and EUR 7.954, Eurobank's share is stable at EUR 2.005, while Piraeus' share is up +0.21% and EUR 3.88.

In the high-cap index (+0.14% and 3,472 points), Aegean's share expands by 1.5% and approaches 11 euros, while Helleniq Energy and Jumbo shares show gains of more than 1%. Cenergy's shares, at the same time, continue at historic highs (+0.8% and 10.1 euros). On the flip side, Ellaktor's shares fall -0.5% and 2.05 euros. Autohellas, Viohalco and Titan Cement lose up to 0.7%.

As for the mid-cap index (-0.13% and 2,262 points), Quest Symmetry's shares stand out positively at +1.5% and 5.3 euros, with Profile's shares following at +1.1% and 4.7 euros. Techniki Olympiaki and Dimand each gain 0.8%. In contrast, Lavipharm's shares are limited to and1.1% and 0.85 euros. ADMIE and Optima lose 0.7% each.
