Turnover increased 4,3% in the second quarter
The retail trade sector's turnover for the second quarter of 2024 was €18.11 billion, up 15.4% from the first quarter, when it was €15.69 billion.

The retail trade sector's turnover for the second quarter of 2024 was €18.11 billion, up 15.4% from the first quarter, when it was €15.69 billion. This represents an increase of 4.3% from the second quarter of 2023, when it was €17.37 billion.

According to ELSTAT data, for enterprises in the retail trade sector, excluding motor vehicles, food, and fuel, turnover in the second quarter of 2024 amounted to €6.57 billion, an increase of 4.1% compared to the second quarter of 2023, where it stood at €6.31 billion, and an increase of 22.8% compared to the first quarter of 2024, which stood at €5.35 billion.

For all small and medium-sized enterprises in the retail trade sector, turnover in the second quarter of 2024 amounted to €10.63 billion, an increase of 4.0% compared to the second quarter of 2023, when it stood at €10.22 billion.

For small and medium-sized enterprises in the retail trade sector with double-entry bookkeeping obligations, for which data are available on a monthly basis, turnover in June 2024 amounted to €1.37 billion, an increase of 3.7% compared to €1.32 billion in June 2023.
