Annual increase in retail sales in August, but decline from July
The turnover of retail trade businesses strengthened in August 2024 from the corresponding period last year, but from July 2024 it showed a significant decline, according to data released today by the Hellenic Statistical Authority.
Turnover decreased in July
The General Index of Turnover in Retail Trade in July 2024, compared to the corresponding index of July 2023, showed a decrease of 0.2% and compared to the corresponding index of June 2024 a decrease of 1.8%, according to data released by ELSTAT.
Turnover increased 4,3% in the second quarter
The retail trade sector's turnover for the second quarter of 2024 was €18.11 billion, up 15.4% from the first quarter, when it was €15.69 billion.
Turnover in Retail up 3.1% in May - Down 3.3% compared to April
ELSTAT data for retail trade enterprises shows that in May 2024, turnover was €3.72 billion, up 3.1% from May 2023 when it had stood at €3.61 billion and down 3.3% from April 2024 when it had stood at €3.84 billion.
