The Wage Cost Index jumped 8.6% in the second quarter without any correction compared to the corresponding index for the second quarter of 2023, the Hellenic Statistical Authority announced today. 

It is noted that in the corresponding comparison of the years 2023 to 2022, the index had recorded an increase of 4.8%.

At the same time, as the ELSTAT data showed: 

▪ The Wage Cost Index of the second quarter of 2024, with seasonal correction but without correction for the number of working days, compared to the corresponding index of the second quarter of 2023, shows an increase of 8.0% compared to an increase of 5.7% in the corresponding comparison of the years 2023 to 2022.

▪ The Wage Cost Index for Q2 2024, corrected for the number of working days but without seasonal correction, compared to the corresponding Index for Q2 2023, shows an increase of 8.7% compared to an increase of 4.9% in the corresponding comparison of the years 2023 to 2022.
