Letter to the Panhellenic Taxi Federation sent by the Governor of AADE, George Pitsilis, calling to receive and deliver to motorists stickers produced at the expense of the Authority and inform passengers of the obligation of drivers to issue a receipt and accept card payments.

It will be recalled that the issue has sparked a clash between the finance department and taxi drivers, who claim that the sticker is too big in size and are demanding a smaller one. The Ministry of Finance's ruling states that a sticker that must be affixed to the upper right window of the back of the taxicab notifies the customer that they accept credit cards as a form of payment. The sign shall measure 25 x 12 cm.

The latest figures from the AADC show that taxi owners are one of the sectors that declare extremely low incomes, which certainly does not reflect the reality for the majority of taxi drivers. In particular, they declared an average monthly income of € 545, which corresponds to an average tax of € 810. Under the presumptive method of taxation, their average monthly income amounts to € 972 and the average tax to €1,481 (671 extra tax).

According to the letter, the Panhellenic Taxi Federation must inform the AASE on how to receive the labels, as well as the details of the person responsible for receiving them.

In the event that either the Federation refuses again to receive the labels or passed the five-day deadline without action, the corresponding obligation is passed on to the primary unions.

Within the deadline:

- ten days (from the refusal or the expiry of the time limit without action), the clubs must notify the AADE of the manner and details of the person responsible for the receipt of the goods
- within three weeks of receipt of the plates, they must be completed and affixed to the taxis.

If the primary unions also refuse to receive them, or if this deadline has also expired without action, the persons liable must within three weeks arrange themselves, at their own expense, for:

the production of the stickers in accordance with the specifications of the Joint Ministerial Decision, and
the application of the stickers to the taxi vehicles.
