The Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) is proceeding with an organisational transformation of the Customs Administration, with the establishment of the Customs Audit Centres (CACs) in Attica and Thessaloniki, completing yet another milestone in its strategic planning. 

More specifically, with the decision of the Governor of the AADE, Giorgos Pitsilis, two new special decentralised services are established, the Customs Audit Centre of Attica and the Customs Audit Centre of Thessaloniki, aiming at the centralisation of customs controls. 

George Pitsilis stressed: "We continue our reform work and create two new specialised services. The centralization of the customs control services of the AADE, combined with the use of modern tools, ensures transparency, acceleration, and efficiency of customs controls, optimizing the services provided to citizens and businesses." 

Through the new Customs Audit Centers: 

Centralised control is exercised during the customs clearance process in accordance with national and EU legislation, safeguarding the public interest. 

Customs procedures are accelerated to facilitate trade and business by automating formalities, prohibitions, and restrictions on the movement of goods from third countries. 

New technologies are exploited through a centralised customs control system. 

Human resources are managed more efficiently. 

The Attica Customs Audit Center will be operational on 16/12/2024, while the date of the Thessaloniki Customs Audit Centre will be determined in the near future.
