Eight are the modern challenges facing tax administrations today, which the Governor of the Independent Public Revenue Authority, Giorgos Pitsilis, referred to during his introductory speech at the 17th Conference of OECD tax administrations, which began this morning in Athens.
These are:
- Organisational transformation
- artificial intelligence
- financing long-term transformation
- taxpayer perspectives
- transformation strategies
- skills development
- the role of leadership
- transparency and certainty of the tax system.
As Mr. Pitsilis said, addressing his counterparts from around the world: "We have an opportunity to reflect on how to transform the future of tax administration, ensuring that our systems not only function as pillars of economic stability, but also as tools of fairness, integrity and progress."
