In 2023, the number of declared bankruptcies amounts to 13 compared to 23 in 2022, a decrease of 43.5%, according to ELSTAT. The average annual rate of change for the period 2014–2023 shows a decrease of 30.3%.
Regarding the legal form of the bankrupt enterprises, the analysis of the data for the period 2014–2023 shows a decrease in bankruptcies, with an average annual rate of change of 35.7% for sole proprietorships, 34.3% for partnerships and 28.5% for limited liability companies.
Most bankruptcies took place in the sector of wholesale and retail trade—repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles—with 53.8%, followed by the manufacturing sector with 30.8%, followed by the sectors of information and communication and administrative and support activities with 7.7%.
Finally, for the period 2014-2023, there is a decrease in the average annual rate of change in the number of verifications by 22.0%, in the amount of liabilities verified by 22.1%, and in the number of employees with a claim by 33.5%.
