Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' plans for its further development in Greece were mentioned by senior executives of the company, among others, on the occasion of their upcoming participation as speakers at the R&R 2024 forum.
A NEW AGREEMENT IS COMING
Dimitris Manikis, President of Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said that the international chain is discussing further growth in the Greek tourism market, both in popular destinations in the country and in areas with a smaller footprint of travel traffic from abroad. He said the company will announce at least one more cooperation agreement by the end of the year, concerning the Attica region.
In 2024, the international chain announced two more agreements with a horizon of 2025 and 2026 for the operation of the complexes. The first agreement with business group DKG Development is for the creation of the first Wyndham in Piraeus, while the second agreement with business group Oikos Property Developments is for the creation of the first Ramada Residences by Wyndham, in Greece.
THE VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN GREECE
Manikis highlighted the performance of Greek tourism, stressing that international travel interest in our country remains strong. The company, he noted, has almost three times the number of members in its loyalty program than the annual number of tourist arrivals in Greece. The Greek destination in 2023 had 36 million international visitor arrivals and all indications are that this year will far exceed 37 million.
Similarly, the company's loyalty program, Wyndham Rewards, now has 112 million registered members. Indicative of this is the fact that in less than 2 years, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, has increased its membership by 15 million. In closing, Mr. Manikis confirmed the significant growth the chain had in 2024 and internationally with major new partnerships around the world.
