Investments granted by the Development Law
Tourism investments of several tens of millions have recently been included in the Development Law of 2022 and concern both the creation of new hotel units and the modernization of existing ones.
4.3% increase in arrivals and nights spent in accommodation in October
The assessment of arrivals and overnight stays in hotel-type accommodation, camping and rooms to let in October was positive, according to ELSTAT data.

An increase in demand of 2.2% was recorded in October for the first time after a five-month period with a negative sign in the occupancy rate of Athens hotels, compared to the corresponding month of 2023, thus setting a positive sign for the 10-month period of 2024 (+1.6%).

For the fifth consecutive month, the occupancy rate of Athens hotels decreased. Compared to the corresponding month of 2023, total hotel demand decreased by 1.2%, according to data from the Athens, Attica and Argosaronic Hotels Association.

The average occupancy rate for the first half of 2024 in Athens hotels did not exceed 75.5% compared to 72.9% in 2023, and the positive change recorded corresponds to 3.5% compared to the first half of 2023, according to a statement from the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels.
