The Elounda Hills residential project enters a new phase, as the €700 million investment in Crete has received the official approval of the Greek state. The development lights the green light for the implementation works, based on the schedule and initial design.
The approved area is approaching 735 acres, with the Government Gazette specifying the building and layout lines, common green areas, public green spaces, roads and soft roads, pedestrian walkways, parking and sports areas, wastewater treatment facilities, and other necessary infrastructure and facilities.
THREE RESIDENTIAL AREAS
- Area 1 (HERA), covering an area of approximately 90 hectares:, will have individual holiday homes and complexes but also public buildings such as shops, a medical centre, a health centre, an indoor gym, a leisure centre, a restaurant, swimming pools, etc.
- Area 2 (Landbank Parcel), with an area of approximately 163 acres: It will feature individual homes and apartment complexes
- Area 3 (Hilltop), with an area of approximately 460 acres: It is organized into 3 areas. Here, both residential development and a "Social Services and Recreation Center" are permitted, including, among other things, a water park, a shopping center, extensive green and recreational areas, and the construction of a landmark hotel
Planning permissions will follow, and work will commence so that by August 2028, Phase 1, which includes most of the residential units and the hotel on the Hilltop site, will be completed.
