The assessment of arrivals and overnight stays in hotel-type accommodation, camping and rooms to let in October was positive, according to ELSTAT data.

In particular, arrivals in tourist accommodation amounted to 2,779,515 and overnight stays to 10,920,665, an increase of 4.3% in arrivals and overnight stays, compared to the same month in 2023.

A larger contribution to arrivals and overnight stays in total accommodation establishments was observed from foreign tourists with 76.9% and 86.6%, respectively. More specifically, there was a 5.1% increase in arrivals and 4.8% in overnight stays by foreigners. Similarly, for domestic tourists, there was an increase in arrivals and overnight stays of 1.7% and 1.6%, respectively. 

The average total overnight stay for the month of October 2024, amounted to 3.9 days.
