The Athens Stock Exchange achieved its 5th consecutive upward session today (26/11), with buyers remaining at the helm, despite the objections of sellers.
Somehow, the Greek market managed to defend the psychological threshold of 1,400 points, ignoring the pressures exerted abroad due to Donald Trump's intention to reintroduce US trade tariffs.
On the other hand, however, once again, the big "picture" of Athens did not cause much enthusiasm among investors, who see the "peaks" of 1,502 points still far away.
Specifically, in the second session of the week, the General Index recorded a marginal increase of 0.13% and stood at 1,408.05 points, gaining about two points compared to Monday's close (1,406.20 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at 11 points (from 1,401.42 to 1,412.29 points), with a trading turnover of just 65 million euros, of which 3.6 million euros were pre-agreed packages.
NBG shares climbed +1.57% and 6.99 euros, boosted by Deutsche Bank's new price target (>10 euros). From there, Eurobank shares followed at +0.64% and 2.058 euros, Alpha shares traded -0.49% and 1.515 euros, while Piraeus shares were limited to -0.44% and 3.599 euros.
In the high-cap index (+0.15% and 3,409 points), OPAP shares rose +1.4% and 15.78 euros, with Viohalco, Sarantis and Helleniq Energy shares trailing by 0.8% to 1.1%. Titan Cement strengthened to a new all-time high (EUR38.4), completing its 5th consecutive rise, while GEK Terna climbed to EUR18.3 (+0.88%), closing at a new 24-year record. Hellaktor also rallied 3.4%, leaving behind a 2-year low. AIA's shares, meanwhile, were up +1.1% and EUR 8.15, picking up the distance from the EUR 8.2 listing price. In contrast, PPC and Aegean shares retreated by 1.3% and 1%, respectively, with OTE shares losing around 1%.
As for the mid-cap index (-0.05% and 2,261 points), the shares of AXAE stood out at +2.0% and 4.4 euros, receiving a boost from the 9-month financials. ADMIE, Lavipharm and Intrakat gained +1% each, while Ideal's shares improved to +2.6% and 5.8 euros. Special mention should be made of ABAX, which flew to +5.8% and EUR 1.48. On the flip side, Kri Kri's shares corrected by -1.4% and folded to EUR 14.1. Intrakat and Optima Bank declined by 1.6% and 2.1%, respectively.
