The AADE presents the assessment of the actions for 2024. As it states, further deepening the digitalisation of the organisation and organisational transformation, with centralisation of services and adoption of new, flexible service models, were the core of the projects and actions of the Independent Public Revenue Authority in 2024.

At the same time, efforts to tackle tax evasion and smuggling continued at an intensive pace and with the continuous modernisation of digital tools, the result of which is already reflected in increased tax revenues and a significant reduction in the VAT gap. 

At the same time, particular emphasis was placed on the implementation of reforms and projects of the Recovery and Resilience Fund, as well as on strengthening the international outreach of the Independent Authority for Public Revenues.

"The past year has been a milestone for the modernization of the tax customs administration. We are abandoning the organisational structure of the past, which was based solely on local competence, and creating the next generation of the AADE, investing in knowledge specialisation, personalisation of service, digitisation of procedures and integration of cutting-edge technologies, taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the Recovery and Resilience Fund," said AADE Governor George Pitsilis.
