The Athens Stock Exchange continues to accumulate today (29/1), with investors making selective investments in the shadow of 1,550 points.

The Athens Stock Exchange continues to accumulate today (29/1), with investors making selective investments in the shadow of 1,550 points.

Specifically, in the third session of the week, the General Index is up a subtle +0.14% to 1,547.79 points, gaining two points from Tuesday's close (1,545.62 points).

The arc of the daily fluctuations extends to three points (from 1,546.61 to 1,549.71 points), with the turnover of transactions ranging at 4 million in the first 10 minutes of the day. 

The banking index, amidst the attempt to digest the large gains of 2025 (+10.5%), continues to accumulate at 9-year highs as it stands at +0.53% and 1,429 points.

Alpha shares are up +0.73% and €1.798 (5-year high), Piraeus shares follow at +0.54% and €4.504 (4-year high), National Bank shares are trading +0.48% and €8.44, while Eurobank shares are unchanged at €2.43.

In the high-cap index (+0.33% and 3,788 points), Viohalco's shares are dynamically expanding to +2.3% and 6.0 euros, the highest level since July 24. The sign is also positive in the subsidiary ELVALHALCOR (+0.7%). The PPC share, for its part, continues at its 15-year high of 13.2 euros, gaining +0.5%. On the contrary, Sarantis shares retreat -1.4% and 11.3 euros, with shares of EYDAP, OTE and Titan Cement down -0.5%.

As for the midcap index (+0.16% and 2,474 points), Kri Kri shares stand out positively at +1.9% and 15.8 euros, while Trade Estates shares follow at +1.8%. The Autohellas share is also impressive, soaring +2.5% and 11.2 euros. On the flip side, Aktor Group's share retracts -1.1% and 5.19 euros in the wake of the completion of the 200 million euro AMK. A special mention should be made of Alter Ego, which continues in positive territory for the 3rd consecutive day, reaching +1.4% and 4.59 euros.
