Unemployment in Greece showed a new decline in December 2024. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 9.4% compared to 10.4% in December 2023 and, revised downwards, 9.5% in November 2024.

According to ELSTAT, the number of employed persons amounted to 4,267,593, an increase of 35,656 compared to December 2023 (0.8%) and a decrease of 10,579 compared to November 2024 (-0.2%).

Unemployed persons amounted to 443,639 persons, a decrease of 48,529 persons compared to December 2023 (-9.9%) and of 6,124 persons compared to November 2024 (-1.4%).

Persons under 75 years of age not in the labor force, or "persons outside the labor force," i.e., persons neither working nor looking for work, totaled 3,053,783, a decrease of 10,816 persons compared to December 2023 (-0.4%) and an increase of 14,551 persons compared to November 2024.
