
Gross Value Added (GVA) in 2022 increased by 13.9% compared to 2021 in the country as a whole, according to the Regional Accounts of ELSTAT.
The largest increase was recorded in the regions of the Peloponnese, Crete, South Aegean and the Ionian Islands. In terms of regional participation in the creation of GVA, Attica has the largest share with 48.1%, followed by Central Macedonia with 14%.
Based on the regional distribution of GVA and population statistics data (population calculated at mid-year), the regional Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita is calculated. Its analysis shows an increase (13.3%) for the country as a whole between 2021 and 2022.
The regional analysis shows that the regions with the most significant increase are the Peloponnese, Crete, South Aegean and Ionian Islands, while the region of Thessaly shows the smallest increase.
