According to the provisional execution data of the state budget, on a modified cash basis, for the period January-November 2023, a deficit of 1.004 billion euros is reported in the state budget balance, compared to a target of a 3.001 billion euros deficit included for the corresponding period in the explanatory report of the 2024 Budget, and a deficit of 5.648 billion euros for the corresponding period in 2022.

The primary surplus is set at 5.854 billion euros, compared to a target for a primary surplus of 3.771 billion euros and a primary deficit of 1.091 billion euros for the same period in 2022. The most significant part of the difference is attributed to the timing difference in expenditure payments, which appear reduced by 1.775 billion euros compared to the target.

For the period January-November 2023, the amount of net revenues of the state budget amounted to 59.190 billion euros, showing an increase of 223 million euros compared to the target included for the corresponding period in the explanatory report of the 2024 Budget.
